After the first month of pregnancy and after reporting the news to your husband and perhaps your family and friends (I say maybe because there are people who prefer to wait for the first ultrasound) is the second month of pregnancy and continue to change both internally and externally .
The first month has, as already explained in the previous post, in the 6 weeks since the last rule, which coincides with the 4 weeks of gestation (4 weeks after ovulation).
It is then at week 7 when it starts the second month of pregnancy that lasts until the end of the tenth week (counting the months as if I had 4 weeks).
Let's see what happens in the second month:
How the embryo grows
Over the six weeks the embryo floats in a fluid-filled bubble that will become the amniotic sac. Adjacent to the embryo yolk sac, which looks like a balloon stuck to him, it provides all the nutrients until the placenta is fully developed, more or less at week 12, and to assume that role.
By the eighth week is when we can say that the embryo acquires a recognizable human face. His heart, already has four cavities (approximately 5-6 weeks is shaped like a tube) beats at a rate of about 180 beats per minute, twice the frequency of an adult heart.
At 9 weeks the baby is about 3 cm long and weighs about 3 g. Mouth, intestine and stomach grow quickly, but still not working.
If you want to know more about the changes that will suffer the baby can see the timing of pregnancy (from week 5 to 8 and week 9 to 12).
Body changes from mom
Physical changes in the second month are still poorly or not at all obvious. The belly is not even note that although the baby is growing fast. We can say that for now, the procession goes through.
The body of the mother, when pregnant, you have to change to support two systems, yours and the baby. This causes the heart to increase heart rate (ten or more beats per minute) also to get blood to the uterus, the placenta and baby. Breathing also accelerates for the same reason.
The uterus is also growing and the muscles of the uterine wall is swell, but the size of the abdomen because the uterus does not increase remains within the pelvis until after the third month.
You may feel fatigue, nausea, dizziness ... but you may not feel absolutely nothing. In any case, the body sends "clues" to the mother to do what they needed (usually resting).
The first visits

Between the eighth and twelfth weeks will have their first visit with the obstetrician or midwife. The ideal is that within that time the visit as soon as possible, so that, as commentators in the previous entry, when the pregnancy is known to contact the health center to ask for access.
At that first visit your history asking about you and your partner and your respective families. You weigh, you will watch the tension and you wonder about the snuff, alcohol and drugs.
I was prescribed folic acid and possibly a supplement of iodine (recommended). Measure the abdomen, examine your breasts and perhaps you will do a Pap smear if they have already made that are not recent.
According to the center or the community where you can visit that you make an ultrasound (if you are visiting a gynecologist and has an ultrasound), although the first social security protocol is usually around 12 weeks.
That day will also cited for the first blood and urine and for subsequent visits. As a general rule, the visits will be for a month.
The couple
The changes that are live only yours because your partner does not see until later. Make partner pregnancy, explaining how you feel and you're living and talking to gradually feel more committed to the baby.
It'sa good idea to go with you to doctor visits you expect to hear and see the baby days when you do ultrasound. They will also feel more accompanied by your partner.
